He was honest, straightforward and matter-of-fact...but it's not okay to have cancer and still smoke. It's not okay to smoke, either. Smoking brings on all kinds of cancers; George Harrison had been an extremely heavy smoker all his life. He was only 58. He acknowledged that smoking was probably what brought on his cancer. When Mr. Swayze said he was still smoking, that absolutely wrecked the interview as far as i was concerned.Lil ol' me...https://www.blogger.com/profile/05375131775477058146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16751830.post-74443290051738376412009-01-10T12:09:00.000-08:002009-01-10T12:09:00.000-08:00Not being a Barbara fan I didn't watch the intervi...Not being a Barbara fan I didn't watch the interview and am now glad. I agree with you. Not as bad as a cancer maybe, or maybe not, but my father-in-law was a three pack a day Camels smoker. He died during a choking episode from emphysema . Not a pleasant way to go. I don't understand how Swayze can complain about "why me" and the h--- he has been through add to it by his own volition!Mari Meehanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09322012728807169863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16751830.post-59194487027277564652009-01-09T22:49:00.000-08:002009-01-09T22:49:00.000-08:00Hi, Mizz Marmus...I may come to regret coming down...Hi, Mizz Marmus...I may come to regret coming down so hard on Mr. Swayze...I read that he's in the hospital for Pneumonia...I wish him all the luck in the world, in spite of what I posted above. I smoked one night during final exams in college; what can I say, I got crazy. Then I remembered all the times my parents tried to quit smoking and the anguish they went thru each time. I threw the cigarettes away, and that was back in 1976. If I continue to keep living until a ripe old age, I will think one reason I was able to do so, was that, for all practical purposes, I Have Never Smoked.

Thanks as always for your perspective, Marmee...I'm proud to have you as an internet chum...Lil ol' me...https://www.blogger.com/profile/05375131775477058146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16751830.post-4438749135172521082009-01-09T10:02:00.000-08:002009-01-09T10:02:00.000-08:00Last night I to saw that interview with Patrick an...Last night I to saw that interview with Patrick and 'who the hell was that weird woman'.... when he said something about 'Im fighting this with all I have' just seemed a pointless sentence when he then went on to say he aint quit smoking....

Sad story though for such a great actor..... both my mum and dad died of smoking related cancers.... within just 10 weeks of each other, even though my dad quit smoking 10 years previous to his death it was a little to late to reverse the damage it must of caused.... back in the war years people seemed to start smoking as did my parents at that young age....

Ive never NEVER smoked, not even a puff, even when all me maties would smoke it just didnt appeal to me, it was like burning money which was to hard earned, and I certainly didnt wanna stink like they did, and it no way looked cool LOL....

ok, waffling again now lol

xMarmiteToastyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536695634856882487noreply@blogger.com
